Our emotions help to guide the decisions that we make every minute of our lives.
The world around us, the feelings inside us, and the thoughts in our heads trigger emotional reactions all the time. Much of what we do is motivated by a desire to hold on to good sensations/feelings or to avoid bad ones.
When you consciously suppress or unconsciously repress emotions, you’re creating a sense of danger within your nervous system. Not to mention the chemical changes emotions bring to the nervous system, intensifying our pain.
